Hello Shahrul, Unfortunately, you cannot go for engineering as most engineering and science-heavy courses need at least a C in maths. However, if you really want to study engineering, you will have to re-sit for SPM Maths to get a better result for the subject. Unfortunately, the application for re-sitting SPM is closed for the year. You will have to apply for next year’s examination. If you are willing to wait, this will be the best route for you. If you have a change of heart, Afterschool is glad to offer our services in helping you find the best course for you :)

Hi Izyan,
Unfortunately, this is not possible. It is compulsory to complete an MBBS (degree in Medicine) for 5 years and 2 years of housemanship before anyone can become a licensed Medical Officer. The only way to be a doctor now is to do an MBBS. There is no age limit to this so you are still eligible to apply for it as long as you meet the entry requirements.
Hope this answers your question. Feel free to ask if you have further queries :)

Hi Sathis,
Having a high interest in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics can bring you a long way. Although Engineering would be an ideal choice for these 3 subjects, you do have other options you can pursue:
1) Bachelor of Science in Applied Chemistry - Applied chemistry concentrates on how chemistry is used in the modern society, with a focus on areas such as nanotechnology, drugs, new materials, computer-designed molecules, bio-transformations and cell factories. UM and UTP are the universities that offer this course. The job demand for this course is still high as the area focused are in medical, research, pharmaceutical and etc
2) Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics - Applied physics is the application of the science of physics to helping human beings and solving their problems. Applied physicists use physics or conduct physics research to develop new technologies or solve engineering problems. USM, USIM and UTP are the few universities that offer this course. The job demand is high in the construction industry, research & development industry, engineering industry and etc.
3) Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management - It is the study of the physical, chemical and biological processes that take place on the Earth, as well as the social, political and cultural processes which impact the planet. The universities that offer this course are UTAR,USM, Herriot-Watt and etc. Job demand for this course is relevantly higher in overseas compared to Malaysia and the industries you can focus on would be the research & development industry, engineering industry and etc
However, we will recommend taking Engineering as the skills learnt are suitable for any job sector. Engineering is a professional degree that brings you prestige, financial security and a chance to improve the world by solving problems.
Hope this clarifies your query :)

Hello Snehaa,
Yes, you can continue your degree in Nursing when you are done with your Foundation in General Science. However, you have to check the entry requirements for the specific university that you want to enrol in to determine your eligibility for the course, as universities will have to look at your CGPA and courses taken in your foundation to assess your eligibility.
Hope this helps :)

Hi Annbritney
Unfortunately, all nursing courses require a minimum C in Mathematics. We would suggest you to retake Mathematics in SPM Ulangan if you really want to study nursing or else, you can take courses that accept your Mathematics grade such as Diploma in Human Resource Management, Early Childhood Education, Foundation in Arts and etc. If you do opt for SPM Ulangan, this year's intake is already closed so you'll have to apply for next year's intake where registration begins in March 2019 and you can sit for the paper in July 2019. Hi Angela,
That is a very good question.
1) If you are offered an interview for your 2nd and 3rd choice, it doesn't mean you have failed the first choice. Nothing is confirmed as long as the results are not out yet. You cannot assume that you've failed a particular course unless it requires an interview but you're not called for the interview. In other words, you need to wait for May 21 when the official results are released. So if you did well in your 2nd and 3rd interview but the university in your first choice accepts you, this means you will get the first choice. So your interview for 2nd and 3rd choice is of no use.
2) Failing to attend the interview means you automatically cannot get the 2nd and 3rd choice already. We suggest you go for the interview to be safe. If lets say, you failed your first choice, you will only find out when the results are out. If you also didn't attend interview for 2nd and 3rd choice, you definitely will not get it. So 1st, 2nd, 3rd choice is out the window. It's better to be safe and attend the interviews (which might go to waste if you get first choice) but will be worth it. At least if you didn't get first choice but did well in your interview, you will get your 2nd choice.
Hope this helps. Feel free to ask if you have any more queries :) Good luck!
