IB students are responsible for their own learning, choosing topics and devising their own projects, while teachers act more as supervisors or mentors than sources of facts. This is why IB requires a significant amount of responsibility from the student.

IB is known for their extended writing projects and allowing their students doing independent research especially when it comes to the IBDP core components that make sure the candidates are able to show their skills and knowledge. Character development is on every student's mind during school as it helps them get ready for the life they have in front of them. Now, IB can help you with this goal and they ensure the student by the time they graduate has successfully become a more well-rounded individual. Creativity, Action, Service (CAS) component of the IB comes in, which places emphasis on emotional and social development by getting students involved in activities outside the classroom.
IB is seen as an effective university preparation programme as they teach you the different skills and ways of learning at a tertiary educational level. During the two years, the fundamental skills of conducting independent research, writing a university style report and source citing will be taught making the university process easier for the graduate. Also, many of your IB HL subjects are on par with your first year university content making transition into university life easier.

Students who are unable to multitask and handle multiple jobs at once might have an issue with this and may struggle to balance everything and finish their work on time. Due to the coursework and assignments for the six mandatory subjects, and also the 4000-word essay, presentations and projects that must be done for the DP core components, the workload might not be for everyone.
