Hey there Amirah,
Upon completion of SPM, you can choose to take either one of the pre-university courses such as A-Levels, Form 6, Matrikulasi, Foundation, ADTP, Diploma, etc.) Whichever one you choose, opt for the one in science stream.
You will need to obtain at least : -A-Level: Minimum 2Cs, including Chemistry and Biology / Physics or -STPM: Minimum 2Cs, including Chemistry and Biology / Physics; or -Australian Matriculation: Minimum of ATAR 65, or -Foundation in Science: Minimum CGPA of 2.50 or -Asasi/Matrikulasi: Minimum CGPA of 2.50
in order to be eligible to apply for a biomedical science degree later on.
After completing one of the programmes above, you can proceed to do a Degree in Biomedical science. This will take you approximately 4 years.
Do check out the institutions that offer Biomedical Science by clicking on this link (https://afterschool.my/biomedical-science-courses) Hope this helps.

Hi Fatimah,
Unfortunately, you cannot apply for rayuan matrikulasi as you did not apply for matriculation in the first place. Rayuan is only for students who have previously applied for matriculation and then failed to get any spots to further their education in matriculation.
However, if you really want to further your studies in a course that interests you, you can always apply for private universities.
Hope this helps :)

Hello Affan,
If you are very sure that you do not like the UPU course that was offered to you, it is still possible for you to be a film producer by taking STPM, and then moving on to a bachelors degree in film and broadcasting. Both public and private universities offer these courses, so you don't have to worry about your choice of universities.
Hope this solves your problem :)

Hello Fahmi,
Yes, it is possible for you to become a public prosecutor if you study Bachelor of Jurisprudence (external) at UM. However, in order to become a public prosecutor, you have to take CLP after getting the degree to obtain a license to practice law. Only after obtaining your CLP can you continue on your journey to become a public prosecutor.
Nevertheless, we would suggest that you refer to the faculty of law in UM to confirm your pathway and requirements before deciding to take up this degree.

Hi Wani,
Yes, you can. That will not be a problem but it is a waste of time because you can already move on to the next level of study (degree). It would be better if you do a double degree than a double diploma because that will be more useful. A degree will help you get a higher salary and is more employable than diploma. For your information, obtaining a double diploma is not equivalent to a degree.
Hope this helps.

Hi Aqilah,
To be a doctor, you will first need a Science stream pre-university course (STPM, Matriculation, Foundation in Science, etc.). Then, you will have to take the MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine) degree which is 5 years in order to become a doctor. If you want to specialise in a specific course like psychiatric or anesthesia, you will have to have another 3-4 years of study to become a specialist.
Currently, the job demand for general doctors are low as Malaysia is saturated with too many general doctors. However, if you were to specialise in something, your job demand increases by a lot as Malaysia has a shortage of specialists. The time it takes to be a specialist might be overwhelming, but rest assured that you will be highly sought after for jobs after graduation.

Hello Del,
Yes, you are able to apply for engineering courses, but only for certain universities depending on their entry requirements. For example, biomedical engineering in IMU requires you to have 2 subjects from a list of Biology/Chemistry/Physics/Maths. Some universities require you to have physics, but some do not and only focus on your CGPA. We would suggest that you try to apply for biomedical engineering or chemical engineering, as you have your basics in biology and chemistry. However, if you find that you are also interested in other engineering courses and the university offers it without a requirement in physics, you can go ahead too.

Hello Anna,
I am not sure what you mean. Do you mean a chemistry course in pre-U and university courses? If that is so, yes, the basic chemistry that you learn in SPM will be used to enhance your learning ability for chemistry courses in university.
On the question of whether it is a tough course, it depends on your interest, how much effort you put in, and how determined you are to excel in the class. For example, a communications course might be easy for a student who is a natural communicator and a social person, but when a student who is excellent in science subjects is placed in a communications course, they will find it very difficult. So, it could be the same situation for you. If you feel that you're very interested in chemistry in addition to having done well in chemistry in your SPM, I am sure that you will be able to cope with your university courses. :)
We hope that we have given you some assurance to this matter. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding higher education.

Hi Syahmirul,
Actually, it would be great if you could get first hand experience and observe their lifestyle as it would give you more exposure for the career that you are about to venture in, but do note that the duration for the Medicine or Dentistry course takes up 4-5 years to complete it, plus housemanship and 1 year of being a medical officer. If you are in no rush then proceeding with your internship is a good idea! :)
