What skills do you need for a course in Automotive Engineering?

Good with Numbers

Automotive engineering requires, you need to love numbers as much as you do cars. While watching engineers on Formula 1 teams work on the cars is a cool sight to behold, the amount of dedication towards numbers is what allowed them to get to where they are.

Good with your hands

Say your close friend’s car breaks down. While you don’t know the exact component that malfunctioned, you know how to fix it , and you proceed to do it well, so much so, the car starts running like new. You need to be ready to get your hands dirty .

Problem-Solver

Mechanical engineers are, above all else, problem solvers. They use math skills and analytical abilities to spot problems and resolve them. This is important in the development process so you can ensure that the devices you create do what clients need them to do.

Good Communicator

You’re capable of speaking in more than 2 languages, perhaps something you picked up from hanging out with your friends of different races. Furthermore, you tend to relay any message, maybe from a teacher to the rest of the class in a clear and easily understood manner.
