Hi Farah!

Yes, there are few universities that offer Bachelors in Veterinary such as UPM and University Malaysia Kelantan. The requirements are to at least achieve CGPA 3.0. They would also likely accept Diploma in science students.

For further information please click this link to find out more on this topic.

Hope this helps :)

Hi Hiew,

There are certainly pros and cons to any of the pathways you choose after SPM. It all depends on which one you prioritise the most.

A diploma programme is a good choice for those who wish to pursue a career immediately after their studies, as it typically takes 2-3 years to complete and you can enter the workforce upon completion. Besides that, certain diploma programmes have required internships attached to the programme, thus giving you ample experience and a glance into the working world. Depending on the field you choose and the industry it is in, you may even have a higher chance of securing a job compared to a degree holder. However, salaries may vary considerably with those of degree holders depending on the organisation.

With a degree, you may have a wider scope of job opportunities. Once again, it depends on the industry and whether you have significant experience as different employers and organisations prioritise differently. Since a degree would perhaps take longer to complete, you may not be able to gain experience during your degree as you would with a diploma programme.

Hope this helps to clear it up. Good luck!

Hi Nurul Liyana,

There are currently no diploma programmes in Psychology offered in public universities. Hence, you will have to pursue the said programme at a private university.

However, if you would rather opt for a public university, you will first have to undergo a pre-u programme such as STPM (either science or arts stream). The subjects that you would be required to score (at least a Credit) during SPM are Mathematics/Additional Mathematics, Science, and English.

For more information about the Psychology course, do refer to this link.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Hi Mahaletchminy,

The fees are different according to the institution. Is there a particular institution you are looking at?

Otherwise, generally the total fees for Diploma in Physiotherapy are between RM30,000 to RM50,000 depending on the university.

Hi Pang,

This would depend on the university you intend to apply to. Let's have a look at a few examples:

UTAR: Grade of B in Biology, Chemistry, Physics/Mathematics

Asia Metropolitan University: Pass Matriculation / Pre-University / STPM programme or equivalent qualification with minimum GPA 2.33 in TWO of the following subjects:

  • Biology
  • Physics/Mathematics
  • Chemistry

Inti: minimum CGPA 2.33 in TWO of the following subjects - Biology, Physics/Mathematics, Chemistry

As such, if you do not obtain the minimum requirements, you will very likely NOT gain admission into that course, and it would be better to take a Diploma first. As with any course, please do contact the university beforehand to get confirmation of this. Hope this helps!

Hi Sarwaysini,

A Diploma in Nursing programme would require you to study science subjects such as microbiology and chemistry especially regarding medication, therefore a background in science would certainly be very useful.

Hope this helps, and do not hesitate to ask us further questions.
