Have you always wanted to do good and help people? If you said yes to at least one of the above, then you may want to consider taking up the course of Physiotherapy. Let us slowly ease you into what this course will entail.

Physiotherapy is a specialist branch of medicine that helps remediate impairments in movement, and promote patients' quality of life through physical intervention to improve mobility and function. Contrary to popular belief, physiotherapy is not simply about bending people hither and thither. If you find joy in helping the injured walk, helping people cope with the weaknesses in their muscles and joints, finding ways to alleviate back pain, supporting people with acute physical disabilities or simply interested in the various aspects of human movement, then you should consider physiotherapy as a profession. You will also be employed in research, consultation and administration. It is practiced alongside other medical techniques.

How does your education pathway look like?

What skills do you need for a Physiotherapy course?

Good with People

More often than not, you’ll be dealing with people who have been through bad, sometimes life-altering injuries. You will be vital in their recovery process and as such need to be patient and able to covey your messages across clearly.

Visionary

Many people who crave a career in sports consider physiotherapy because it’s a more logical option. While you may not be on the field kicking the ball, you may just be on the sidelines waiting to run on when someone gets injured.

Patient

Many of your patients may be easily agitated as they would be under a lot of mental and physical pain. You need to be calm and cool, trying to put yourself in their shoes, all in the name of making sure they may recover some day.
