Hi again Syuhada,
Yes, you can. But you must take Mathematics T / Mathematics M and Geography in your pre-u level. Here is UM's entry requirements for a degree in Geology:
Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred B pada peringkat STPM dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut: • Biology • Physics • Chemistry • Mathematics T/Mathematics M • Geografi
Hope this clarifies your doubt.

Hi Looi,
According to UPM's website, the Bachelor of Chemical Science combines the physical, analytical, organic and traditional organic fields. You'll also learn contemporary chemistry courses such as polymer chemistry, chemical kinetics, thermodynamic chemistry and computing chemistry. To enrich this experience, students are required to choose a course from the field of environmental chemistry, food chemistry or applied chemistry. Examples of elective courses offered are Industrial Chemistry, Catalysis, Food Bioprocess, Chemistry and Food Macro Components Analysis, Environmental Impact Assessment, and Marine Chemistry.
As for Bachelor of Petroleum Science, students will get to study a combination of basic chemistry (physical, analytical and organic) with emphasis on petroleum and petrochemical industries. It focuses on providing students with detailed theoretical knowledge, site visits or case study experience on topics such as the Chemical Technology Principle, Petroleum Chemistry, Petroleum Refining Processes, and Petrochemical and Oil Spill Controls. Elective selection courses offered are Polymer Engineering, Gas Engineering and Petroleum Engineering, Safety and Risk Assessment, and Toxic and Hazardous Poison Management.
Both courses are similar. The former is more towards studying the general field of Chemistry while the latter is focused towards the petroleum industry which is also chemical based. Here are your career opportunities for both courses: - Chemist - Science officer - Laboratory Executive - Academic Staff - Marketing and Technical Officer - Scouting Officer - Training Officer - Administrative and diplomatic officer - Forensic Scientist - Environmental Control Officer - Education Services Officer - Quality Control Officer
You can work in an oil and gas industry but you are not a chemical engineering. You can only be a chemical / petroleum engineering is by studying engineering.
Hope this helps

Hi Jenath,
We do not handle UPNM's admission, nor do we know the specific entry requirements for their courses. We always obtain our information from valid sources and in this case, UPNM's official portal. Here are the entry requirements for their Master's programme: http://www.upnm.edu.my/index.php?req=100
We understand that it is not specific to Marine Technology but this is the only entry requirement they have. Perhaps this is all you need to achieve to be able to apply.
Hope this helps.

Hi Teh,
There is a difference between the two but HR Management is also a subject you will learn if you study Business Management. Similarly, you will also study a little bit of Business in a HR Management course. They are two different subjects but is overlapping each other. To run a business, you'll need to know how to deal with your employees right? That's where HR comes in. Some universities offer a degree in Business and HR Management while others separate them. Here are some of the top business schools in Malaysia: https://afterschool.my/find-course/top-universities-for-business-studies
Hope this helps. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions :)

Hi there,
Unfortunately, there is no scholarship offered for those results, especially for diploma. But don't worry, you still have a change to apply. Complete at least the first or second semester of diploma and obtain at least CGPA 3.50 and try to apply for an internal scholarship. In fact, if you obtain First Class Honours (CGPA 3.75), PTPTN will convert your loan into a scholarship.
A better loan to apply for is PPBU. It is offered by Bank Rakyat and only with a CGPA of 2.50, you'll get a 30% discount. Please refer to this link for more info: https://www.yayasanbankrakyat.com.my/index.php/contact-us/faqs/ppbu
Hope this helps :)

Hi Jasmin,
If you check the entry requirements for a degree in TESL at UiTM, you only need to obtain a diploma in any field at UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.5. In fact, you can apply for most of the degree programmes at UiTM as long as you meet the requirements. Since you did not mention your results here, we suggest you to check the website for the entry requirements for each course so you know which ones you're eligible for. Then narrow down to a few that you are interested.
Good luck :)

It will be impossible for a person to memorize all the legal provisions, clauses and statutes of Malaysia. You will be learning far more than that in your courses, the course will provide you skills to practice law. Mooting ( a mock hearing where students argue points of law) is one skill you will be focusing on. Basically, you will be learning the application of those statutes in real life cases. While it is true that most lawyers have a basic awareness of their country's laws, the idea that any lawyer could know every law verbatim is impossible. The world operates under the common law, there are often thousands of decisions being published each year, making it impossible for a lawyer to keep up with every single development. The best a lawyer can do is understand the fundamentals of the law and keep up to date with important cases that represent shifts in the laws of their practice areas. Hope this clarifies your query :)

Hi Faris,
Firstly, congratulations on your results! :)
This is many student's dilemma so don't worry about it. We're here to help you out. You can start by asking yourself what you want to do in the future and what are your interests. It also helps to know the job demand and salary scale.
Medicine is a very popular course among students. We have a glut of Medical Officers (doctors) but not enough specialists. So if you really want to make it big in the medical industry, we suggest you to specialise in a particular field of medicine such as dermatology, anaesthesia, ENT, orthopaedics, oncology, etc. But it is not easy to achieve this. Here is your pathway after SPM if you want to be a specialist: SPM --> Pre-u (STPM / Matrics / Asasi / A-Levels / Foundation / Diploma, etc.) (min 1 year) --> MBBS (5 years) --> Housemanship (2 years) --> Compulsory service (1 year) --> Certified Medical Officer --> Postgraduate majoring in specific studies (4-5 years) --> Specialist. As you can see, the route to become a specialist is no joke. It is takes at least 13 years after SPM but your pay will be good and there is demand.
Now let us explain about engineering. Engineering will always be in demand because we constantly need engineers to build, fix and maintain structures, softwares, mechanics, etc. Almost everything you see is a results of an engineer. This job has emerged as one of the top paying jobs in Jobstreet and the Critical Occupations List in 2017 as written in The Star. If you don't fancy the long study duration and grueling midnight shift of a doctor, then we suggest you to choose engineering.

Hi Ain,
All of these are different professions and would lead to different results in your career. It depends on how you define 'financially worthy'. You need to weigh the pros and cons of each course, see its pathway, job demand and your interest.
Allow us to give you a few examples: 1) A course in Medicine would cost the most as compared to other courses but if being a doctor is what you love doing because you get to help people, then you should go for it. Once you become a specialist or work long enough, you will receive a high pay. But you need to prepare yourself for some serious studying and endure longer duration of studying if you take up this course. 2) Some people just love teaching so being a lecturer is a no-brainer. A lecturer earns a decent salary. You can also opt to be a part-time lecturer where you have more flexible hours. 3) A Clinical Psychologist would require you to study biology as well, just like a doctor, but you'll have to deal with patients who are of unsound mind. Choose this course only if you can take the stress because patients will be pouring out their anger and frustration and probably behaving badly in front of you.
Malaysia needs more medical specialists so it would be good to take up MBBS and then pursue your postgraduate in a specific field to become a specialist.
Hope this helps. Good luck :)
