Guide to Choosing the Best Private University and Study Programmes with Job Prospects

Published by Afterschool.my on Sep 30, 2021, 11:53 am

No doubt, the majority of parents and students are afraid of getting deceived by recruitment agents who are responsible for marketing a particular institution, especially at education fairs that are held every year. Most students usually attend education fairs to get a better idea of higher education institutions, and some will even end up applying on the spot due to consistent and strong persuasion by the agents.

To avoid getting deceived,  here are several important points to note. We advise that you check all of it in the list below and make sure that you make the right decision before choosing an institution and study program.  This will directly affect your chances of getting employed in the future.

  • Make sure the private university is registered with the Ministry of Higher Education (click to check for the latest registered private institutions)

  • The course of study offered is still valid (check the list of registered private universities: certificate of registration)

  • The course of study is accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) (click on the MQA review guide)

  • The structure of the tuition fees charged has been approved by the Ministry of Higher Education

  • Complete and suitable facilities and infrastructure

  • Courses of study are recognized by the PSD (Public Service Department)

  • Listed in SETARA Rating (for IPTS with university college or university level) or MyQuest (for private colleges) for university quality level value (Review of SETARA Rating refer to the official portal of the university/college)
