Hello Ottmar,

Yes, it is possible for a diploma student to go on to a medical degree. However, eligibility for a medical degree depends on the type of diploma you have. Only science stream diplomas or equivalent are eligible for it, as long as you've satisfied the entry requirements of the particular university.

For example, Aimst University requires you to have a Diploma in Health Sciences with a CGPA of at least 3.5 and above, at least 2Bs in Biology and/or Physics and/or Chemistry, and 3 credits each in English, Maths, or Additional Mathematics and another subject at SPM level or equivalent. If you have satisfied these 2 requirements as well as any additional requirements that the university has, you are then eligible to enroll in Aimst University for their MBBS program.

Here is a sample link where you can click on it and fill up the form on the right hand corner of the page. Our counsellors will get back to you regarding the most suitable institution for you.

Hope this helps :)

Hello Sharmittha,

Judging whether a course is worthy or not depends on a variety of factors, such as job demand, job salary, work-life balance, and many other reasons. It will have to depend on your own personal preferences to deem if the Diploma in Medical Imaging is a worthy course. However, we can assure you that the job demand and salary for graduates from this course is set to grow in the future as medical technology improves.

As for whether you can cope with this course or not, the requirements for a Diploma in Medical Imaging in UNISEL is a minimum of 5 credits in SPM for the following subjects:
Mathematics
1 Science subject (Biology/Physics/Chemistry/General Sciences/Applied Science)
Any 3 other subjects
Pass Bahasa Malaysia & English

*Take note that these requirements are only for UNISEL. Different institutions may have different entry requirements.*

If you satisfy these requirements, you are eligible to enroll for this course. However, success is not ensured as it would have to depend on your own interest, effort, and determination.

Hope this helps. We wish you all the best!

Hello Shelbie,

Yes, you can apply to UPSI with a diploma in Early Childhood Education from a private institution as the UPU website shows that this particular course allows for IPTS applicants. You can double confirm it here by clicking this link and choosing UPSI for the "Universiti Awam" category, and Diploma IPTS for the "Kategori" and "Aliran" categories. The courses shown will be courses that allow for IPTS diploma applicants.

Hello Jasmine,

Different institutions have different fees for their courses, and some prices vary by a lot. If you have a specific institution in mind, please check directly on that institution's website for its fees. If you are looking for a range of prices, a Diploma in Aviation Management can go up to approximately RM 30, 000. For example, Aviation Management College offers the course at RM7,400 per year for a 3-year programme.

Hope this helps :)

Hi Shafika,

You can always finish up with a degree in marketing, but there are plenty of degree choices to choose from as well should you prefer to study in a different field. For example, you can apply for Architecture, Finance, IT, Quantity Surveying, and many more. However, you should do some research on whether the university that you are interested in accepts your diploma and allows for credit transfer.

Here is a sample university that accepts most diplomas depending on their CGPA and subjects taken:

You can fill in the form on the right hand column if you are interested and we will get back to you.

Feel free to browse through the institutions on this website. We wish you all the best!

Hi Faiz,

There're 3 ways to apply to UM.
1) through UPU
2) second intake
3) international degree programme (IDP)

As for the first option, a diploma from a private university will give you limited options to choose from UM. You can head over to UPU's official website to check out the courses you're eligible to apply for here: https://online.mohe.gov.my/upu/epanduan/syarat/vMenuSyarat.php?jenprog=stpm&pagefunc=syaratByIPTA&carian1=M&carian2=E&carian3=E3

Second intakes allow students to directly apply to the university so this depends if the university accepts your qualification. You can try to call them to enquire about this as they are the ones who handle student admissions.

UM will accept your diploma from a private uni through IDP but do note that you will have to pay the fees similar to a private university as this is not subsidised by the government.

If money is not an issue and you really want to get in UM, IDP is the best option for you.

Hope this has clarified your doubts. Feel free to ask if you have any more queries

Hi Fatimah,

Unfortunately, you cannot apply for rayuan matrikulasi as you did not apply for matriculation in the first place. Rayuan is only for students who have previously applied for matriculation and then failed to get any spots to further their education in matriculation.

However, if you really want to further your studies in a course that interests you, you can always apply for private universities.

Hope this helps :)

Hi Wani,

Yes, you can. That will not be a problem but it is a waste of time because you can already move on to the next level of study (degree). It would be better if you do a double degree than a double diploma because that will be more useful. A degree will help you get a higher salary and is more employable than diploma. For your information, obtaining a double diploma is not equivalent to a degree.

Hope this helps.
