Hi there,

Unfortunately, there is no scholarship offered for those results, especially for diploma. But don't worry, you still have a change to apply. Complete at least the first or second semester of diploma and obtain at least CGPA 3.50 and try to apply for an internal scholarship. In fact, if you obtain First Class Honours (CGPA 3.75), PTPTN will convert your loan into a scholarship.

A better loan to apply for is PPBU. It is offered by Bank Rakyat and only with a CGPA of 2.50, you'll get a 30% discount. Please refer to this link for more info: https://www.yayasanbankrakyat.com.my/index.php/contact-us/faqs/ppbu

Hope this helps :)

Hi Jasmin,

If you check the entry requirements for a degree in TESL at UiTM, you only need to obtain a diploma in any field at UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.5. In fact, you can apply for most of the degree programmes at UiTM as long as you meet the requirements. Since you did not mention your results here, we suggest you to check the website for the entry requirements for each course so you know which ones you're eligible for. Then narrow down to a few that you are interested.

Good luck :)

Hi Tze Yin,

This depends on the university you intend to apply in because their fees vary accordingly. Generally, a diploma in business could range between RM15,000 to RM30,000. Peninsula College, SEGi, IUKL and INTEC are some institutions that offer this programme. Certain universities also offer a Foundation in Business or Commerce that will take only 1 year to complete, such as AIMST and Curtin. If you'd like to enrol into one, please click on this link https://afterschool.my/international-education-college/diploma-in-business-management-dbm fill up your details on the right side of the page and we will contact you shortly to help in the application process.

Hope to speak to you soon :)

Hi Athirah,

You should apply with your Diploma qualification because with that, you can enter degree straight away. If you use SPM results, you will need to repeat a pre-university course again. You can apply for UPU now but do note that you will receive a notification that you've failed because you haven't gotten your Diploma results yet. Once you do get it, you can upload it during the appeal phase and they will reconsider you. Here's a user manual on how to apply through UPU: https://afterschool.my/upu-guides/upu-2018-19-official-user-manuals-how-to-apply

Hope this helps.

Hi Shafiqah,

Diploma in Pengajian Islam Sejarah is the name of the course where you'll learn various subjects under its syllabus. Tamadun Islam is the subject every student must study during their university years, which is also included in the Diploma in Pengajian Islam course. Just like its name, you'll be studying about the history of Islam, including the different civilizations (tamadun) and eras of Islam.

Hope this helps.

Hi Emily, Unfortunately there is no diploma course for Anesthesiology as Anesthesiology is a specialized course. A student has to complete this pathway before becoming a Anaesthesiologist.

1. Pre-University (Foundation in Science, A-Levels) - 1 to 1.5 Years
2. MBBS Degree - 5 Years
3. Housemanship ( Internship) - 2 Years
4. Medical Officer - 1 Year

After completing all 4 stages, only then the student can proceed to specialize in Anaesthesiology (Masters Degree) - 3 to 5 years. Hence it takes around 13 years to become a fully qualified Anaesthesiologist.

Hi Farisha,

A diploma in english for communication can lead you to become an English teacher in tuition centres but not in schools, nor university level because they would require a higher level of qualification such as a bachelor or masters. Upon completing your diploma in this field, you should pursue degree in English and communication as well and preferably masters in this field also to have more job opportunities.

To be a lecturer at a university, you will need at least a Bachelor's Degree. If you want to specialise in teaching English, it's best if you enrol for a Diploma or Asasi in TESL now then continue your degree in TESL later on. UniSZA and UiTM offer this course so you can check it out.

Careers you can pursue with this degree are vast. You can be a writer, teacher, editor, content manager, journalist, social media manager, etc.

Hope this helps. Good luck with your application! :)

Hi Fatin,

Pre-University is a study level that consists of STPM, Asasi, Matrikulasi, A-Levels, Foundation, IB, ADTP, CPU, AUSMAT, etc. They are all categorised under 'pre-university' level. Each of them have their own pros and cons, some being more affordable, some leading you to study at overseas institutions, some have a shorter duration, etc. Diploma is also the same level but people generally call diploma just as it is. A diploma is more specific than other pre-u programmes. For example, there are only a few streams in Foundation such as science, arts, engineering, business, etc. But for diploma, you have Diploma in Information Technology or Business and Accounting, etc. This article explains in detail what all these courses entail: https://afterschool.my/find-course/which-pre-u-course-should-you-choose

Hope this helps.
