COURSE OVERVIEW

The Department of Foundation and Diploma Studies (COBA-FDS) offers Diploma in Accounting. The courses offered are being specifically structured to equip students with a strong foundation in Basic Accounting, Basic Business Administration, Basic Finance as well as other related courses before they embark on the Bachelor of Accounting (Hons), Bachelor in Business Administration programmes such as BBA (Hons) in Human Resource Management/Marketing/Entrepreneurship & Venture Management/International Business and the Bachelor of Finance (Hons) programme.

90 credit hours of subjects are being taught in seven semesters. This Diploma in Business Studies programme can be completed in 2 ¼ years.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

SPM / O-Level

Pass SPM / O-Level with minimum credits (grade C) in any 3 subjects

UEC

Pass in STPM or equivalent with a minimum of Grade C (2.00) in any subject.

STAM

Pass in STAM with a minimum grade of Maqbul level

SKM Level 3

Pass in SKM Level 3 in a related field
A pass in SPM with a minimum of 1 credit (Grade C) in any subject

Certified Level 3 MQF

Pass Certificate Level 3 MQF in a related field with minimum CGPA 2.00
A pass in SPM with a minimum of 1 credit in any subject

Certificate in Community College

Pass Certificate in any related with minimum CGPA 2.00
A pass in SPM with a minimum of 1 credit in any subject

English Requirements

For Malaysian students:

No additional English requirement for this programme.

For international students: International students are required to have English one of the proficiency score stated below to enrol in UNITEN. Diploma students who do not fulfill this English requirement are required to sit for the Intensive English Programme (IEP) and pass the requirement below before starting their Diploma programme:

MUET – Malaysia University English Test
Achieve Band 3.5 and above, OR
IELTS – International English Language Testing System
Achieve 5.5 and above, OR
TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language
Achieve 500 (TOEFL) or 46 (TOEFL Internet Based Test) and above
