COURSE OVERVIEW

The Bachelor of Music programme encompasses various courses, with an emphasis on Musical Performance, Music Technology and Music Education, aimed at producing skilled and knowledgeable music professionals. In addition, students also have the opportunity to be a member of an orchestra, chamber music group, and choir. The department provides a Multimedia Lab, Music Technology Lab, Recording Studio, Music Education Lab, Gamelan Lab, Piano Lab, Bass Lab, Percussion Lab and Orchestra Practice Halls, as well as Instrumental Practice Rooms to facilitate the learning of music, in line with current learning needs. This programme has the potential to produce world-class musicians

University General Requiments

A good pass in the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM)/its equivalent with a credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia or a credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia July Paper; and

A pass in the STPM Examination at 2006 or before with at least; CGPA 2.00 and at least;

C grade (CGPA 2.00) in General Studies; and

C grade (CGPA 2.00) in two other subjects;or

A pass in the Matriculation Examination at 2006 or before with at least; CGPA 2.00; or

A Diploma or its equivalent which is recognized by the Malaysian Government and approved by ...

C grade (CGPA 2.00) in General Studies; and

C grade (CGPA 2.00) in two other subjects;or

A pass in the Matriculation Examination at 2006 or before with at least; CGPA 2.00; or

A Diploma or its equivalent which is recognized by the Malaysian Government and approved by the University Senate; and

At least Band 1 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

Specific Programme Requiments

A pass in Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Grade 5 (theory and practical) or equivalent; and

Passed in audition.
