COURSE OVERVIEW

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering programme is designed to prepare you for professional career and to further your study to Bachelor Degree in the related engineering field. We adopt comprehensive and innovative content and teaching techniques, which are designed towards expanding the frontiers of learning and inculcating a probing mind.


You will be challenged to develop into multi-skilled professionals possessing mental, intellectual and emotional fortitude to succeed in life. The curricula, further enhanced with project work, lab experiments and practical training, are designed with inputs from reputable sources.


The Diploma in Mechanical Engineering programme consists of well-established balance between theory, experiments and hands-on practical training during the two and half-years of study. The curriculum consists of a good mix of general subjects as well as core engineering subjects.


94 credit hours of subjects are being taught in seven semesters. This Diploma in Mechanical Engineering programme can be completed in 2 ½ years.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Detailed entry requirements

SPM/SPMV/O-Level

  • Pass SPM/SPMV/O-Level with minimum 3 credits (Grace C) in Mathematics and Physics OR Relevant Science OR Technical OR Vocational
  • A pass in Bahasa Inggeris

UEC

  • Pass UEC with minimum Grade B in 3 subjects including Mathematics and 2 additional subjects: Science OR Technical OR Vocational subject
  • A pass in Bahasa Inggeris

Sijil Vokasional & Teknikal / Kemahiran

  • Pass with Level 3 Kolej Kemahiran Mara (KKM) with minimum CGPA 2.00
  • 1 year working experience in related field OR 1 semester of enhancement programme

Engineering / Engineering Technology Certificate

  • Pass with Level 3 Kolej Kemahiran Mara (KKM) with minimum CGPA 2.00

Other Requirements

  • Other equivalent qualification recognize by Malaysian

English Requirements

For Malaysian students:

  • No additional English requirement for this programme.

For international students:

International students are required to have English one of the proficiency score stated below to enrol in UNITEN. Diploma students who do not fulfill this English requirement are required to sit for the Intensive English Programme (IEP) and pass the requirement below before starting their Diploma programme:

  • MUET – Malaysia University English Test
    Achieve Band 3.5 and above, OR
  • IELTS – International English Language Testing System
    Achieve 5.0 and above, OR
  • TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language
    Achieve 500 (TOEFL) or 42 (TOEFL Internet Based Test) and above
