COURSE OVERVIEW

Bachelor of Computer Science (Cyber Security) (Honours) is offered by the Department of Computing, College of Computing & Informatics, Universiti Tenaga Nasional. This programme offers computer science curricula with the emphasis on cyber security knowledge that is tailored towards securing modern net-centric computing environment. Students who undergo this programme will be equipped with the fundamentals knowledge of computer science which include subjects on programming and software development, data communication and network, computer organization and operating systems.



120 credit hours of subjects are being taught in nine semesters. This Bachelor of Computer Science (Cyber Security) (Honours) programme can be completed in 3 years.

STPM

  • Pass STPM in Science Stream with minimum Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in Mathematics and any one of Science or ICT subject
  • Pass STPM with minimum Grade C in any 2 subjects and pass with Grade C in Additional Mathematics or Mathematics and any one of Science / Technology / Engineering subject in SPM

STAM

  • Pass STAM with a minimum grade in Jayyid in any 2 subjects,  AND
  • Pass STAM with minimum Grade C in any 2 subjects and pass with Grade C in Additional Mathematics or Mathematics and any one of Science / Technology / Engineering subject in SPM

Foundation

  • Pass Foundation in related field with minimum CGPA 2.00, AND
  • Pass Foundation with minimum Grade C in any 2 subjects and pass with Grade C in Additional Mathematics or Mathematics and any one of Science / Technology / Engineering subject in SPM

Matriculation

  • Pass Matriculation with minimum CGPA 2.00, AND
  • Pass Matriculation with minimum Grade C in any 2 subjects and pass with Grade C in Additional Mathematics or Mathematics and any one of Science / Technology / Engineering subject in SPM

Diploma

  • Pass Diploma with minimum CGPA 2.50 in Diploma of Computing / Diploma in Computer Science / Diploma in Software Engineering / Diploma in Information Technology / Diploma in Information System, OR
  • Pass Diploma with minimum CGPA 2.50 in Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) in Computing fields / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) in Computing fields / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) in Computing fields, OR
  • Pass Diploma in Science and Technology with a minimum of CGPA 2.75

English Requirements

For Malaysian Students:

Malaysian students may enrol without MUET. However, students are required to complete MUET during duration of study (before graduation). IELTS (5.0 and above) or TOEFL (500 and above) or TOEFL Internet Based Test (42 and above) is also accepted.

  • MUET – Malaysia University English Test
    Achieve Band 1 and above

For International Students:

International students are required to have one of the English proficiency score stated below to enrol in UNITEN. Bachelor students who do not fulfill this English requirement are required to sit for the Intensive English Programme (IEP) and pass the requirement below before starting their Bachelor programme.
  • MUET – Malaysia University English Test
    Achieve Band 3.5 and above
     
  • IELTS – International English Language Testing System
    Achieve 5.0 and above
     
  • TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language
    Achieve 500 (TOEFL) or 42 (TOEFL Internet Based Test) and ab

Credit Transfer

  • Students from other institutions may apply for transfer credits. A maximum up to 36 credits can be transferred, subject to eligibility of the applicant. Please do not hesitate to contact the following staff should you have any query pertaining to credit transfer.
