Hi Crisphine,
To enter Foundation in a university, a G in Maths would render it very difficult for you to enrol. This is because Maths is one of the 5 subjects in SPM that you should score, alongside Bahasa Malaysia, General Science, History, and Pengetahuan Moral. You may refer to this article for more info about the subjects you should score: https://afterschool.my/bm/berita/5-subjek-spm-wajib-skor-aliran-sastera
You can opt for STPM. However, when you undergo STPM, you will have to take Maths as one of your subjects and must be able to score by then, regardless of whether you are planning to take an Arts course or a Science course.
Hope this helps, and good luck!

Hello Nur Ramizah,
Yes, you should be able to further your studies to the degree level with a 2.33 CGPA. In general, universities accept STPM with CGPA of 2.00 and above with some exceptions in science stream courses in addition to the extra entry requirements of certain universities.
Therefore, there is no worry on whether you can further your studies in a degree programme. Go ahead and apply for some courses! You can browse courses and universities that offer them on our website here.
Hope this helps. We wish you all the best!

Hello Yannae,
1. You cannot use your ADP certificate to apply for UPU as it is not an actual cert on its own. UPU also does not have a category for ADP certification. Furthermore, the American syllabus is also different from the Malaysian syllabus as well.
However, you can apply and transfer your credits to local universities through direct application to the universities themselves. This is because MQA has recently amended their policy on credit transfers from overseas universities back to local universities as they recognise the problem of rising costs when the currency drops. Therefore, you can refer to this link for more information about that. However, take note that the credits you want to transfer will have to be recognised by the university to successfully transfer the credits.http://www.mqa.gov.my/portalmqav3/red/en/faq_pkpk.cfm
2. For the STPM option, this link will lead you to information on how to apply for STPM 2019 as a private candidate. Please refer to article 7.2:http://portal.mpm.edu.my/web/guest/arahan-dan-panduan-pendaftaran-stpm
We hope this helps :)
Pre-University
Government Matriculation
Hi Izzah,
You can refer to one of the articles we wrote about this topic where we compared all the pre-university programmes: Which Pre-U Course Should You Choose?
The shortest pre-university program would be AUSMAT which takes only 11 months. A more affordable option for you would be Foundation and it only takes one year as well.
Here are a few universities that offer Foundation courses:
SEGi University & Colleges Kota DamansaraInternational University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW)IIUM - International Islamic University Malaysia
If you are interested in any of them, you can fill up the form on the right hand column of the page, and our counsellors will get back to you soon :)
Feel free to browse through our site as well to find out more about pre-university courses and the institutions that offer them.
Hope this helps :)
Hello Reenaa,
As Economics is related to Business, and Business is related to Accounting, the subjects of Math and Accounting are inevitable in a Business Degree. Therefore, you will have to learn Maths and Accounting in the Diploma in Finance.
Not many universities offer this course, but TAR UC is one of them that offers this course. If you are interested, you can check out their syllabus and subjects they study at their official website here.Hope this helps :)
Indonesia
Hello Isma,
STPM was once recognised as one of the hardest pre-university examinations in the whole world. Therefore, it is generally recognised by most universities internationally, so you should have no problem furthering your studies in Indonesia.
However, everything boils down to your results in your STPM. If you have good results, you should be eligible for most courses. As for which university and which course you can take, it will depend on your own interests as well as the type of university you prefer (main campus/satellite campus, urban/rural, cost of living, environment, etc.)
Finally, to apply for your studies in Indonesia, the most straightforward way will be to apply directly on the university's official website. But, if you would prefer dealing with a Malaysian counterpart to overlook your pathway to study in Indonesia, you can also go through agencies that help you with that. However, please ensure that these agencies are legitimate before deciding to use their services.
One example of a trusted agency that specialises in the medical line is Medic Pro-link. Here are some links for you if you are interested in studying Medicine in Indonesia:https://afterschool.my/campaign/medicpro/medicine_dentistry/https://afterschool.my/campaign/medicpro/veterinary/https://afterschool.my/campaign/medicpro/yogyakarta/

HI, my problem now is the stream im taking which has math as a subject and also im weak in accounts and my teacher is not very helpful. No its not because my friends that i dont like stpm. i am just not very comfortable about the school enviroment. I am interested in Dip. in Finance because I am really interested in economics subject and my teacher suggested it as i knew that i wanted to be in the business field. I want to drop out and enter college but i cant make a decision.
Im not interested in stpm because of the course im taking and the teachers. I also cant shift to a different school due to transport issues. I really like the subject ceonomics and my teachers suggested me to enrol in Finance or Economics. I want to take diploma in finance since my parents cant afford Foundation studies. But to be honest I am interested to learn language but I dont think i can do any degree related to it
Deciding what to study is a very tough thing to do for every student, as it will define your future and what you will be doing from then on. You can ask for advice from other people, but in the end, everything will still fall back to you as you are the final decision maker. Therefore, before you make your decision in anything, here are some questions for you to reflect on as a guide to finding your answers. After you have done that, you can get back to us and with these answers we can help you find the right course and institution for you :)
1. Why are you not interested in STPM? - Is it because of the stream or subjects you are taking?
- Is it because most of your friends are doing other courses?
- Is it because you feel that the standard of STPM is not on par with other pre-university courses?
2. Why are you interested in the Diploma in Finance?
- Are you really interested in a finance, or are you choosing this course for other reasons?
- What are the other reasons or motivations?
Hope these questions helped you find more clarification on your decision making :) We hope to hear from you soon!
