Hi Abdul Haziq,

There are several pathways that may lead you to pursuing a degree in Forensic Science. You may take a diploma in any relevant discipline, A levels, or even Foundation in Science. But the fastest pathway to taking the degree would no doubt be Foundation in Science.

It is important that you get at least 5 credits inclusive of Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics / Additional Mathematics in SPM, to be eligible for a degree in Forensic Science. But make sure to note that entry requirements may differ depending on the institution. Also, on top of that, you would need a decent grade in Foundation in Science/A levels/any relevant Diploma.

If you're interested, MAHSA University and AIMST University both offer Foundation in Science. If you are keen on applying, just fill in the bar on the right and one of our counselors will get in touch with you.

Hope this helps!

Hello Zulfa,

Yes, you can still apply with your SPM 2013 results for the Foundation in Science programme before furthering your studies for a degree in Pharmacy. However, as this is a medical degree, you have to take note that the entry requirements for this course is higher than the average Foundation in Science programme for other degree courses.

According to the MQA requirements for medical courses, you will need 5Bs each in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (or Additional Mathematics) and another subject in SPM.

Here are two universities that offer the Foundation in Science course that leads to the Bachelor of Pharmacy degree:
MAHSA University
AIMST University

If you are interested in enrolling in these universities, simply fill up the application form on the right hand column of the page and our counsellors will contact you soon about it.

Hope this helps. We wish you all the best! :)

Hi Nur Aina,

You should be able to apply for a psychology degree if your foundation results meet the minimum entry requirements of the university you're applying to. Generally, this would range from a CGPA of 2.00-3.00 depending on the institution.

If you're looking for financial aids, some institutions grant tuition discounts if you obtain outstanding results in SPM and/or Pre-university. You may also opt for a PTPTN loan, since they are easy to apply to and have low interest rate.

It is entirely possible to apply for a public university through UPU if your SPM was inthe year 2015 onwards. You may read more about UPU and the application process here. However this year's UPU applications have closed.

If you're interested, IUMW and Raffles University Iskandar are among some universities that offer a psychology degree. You may browse through other universities that offer it here.

Hope this helps!

Hi May Ying,

There are two types of scholarships - internal and external, in addition to sponsorships that will help you fund your studies if you are eligible and selected for it. Therefore, it will depend on which type of scholarship you are referring to.

1. Internal scholarships - These are scholarships given by the specific universities for their students only, so it will only be applicable to that university.

2. External scholarships - These scholarships are generally given out by the government or other organisational bodies for high-achieving students. They are mostly applicable to most universities, including overseas ones, depending on the details of each scholarship.

3. Sponsorships - These are bonded scholarships where a recipient of it will be bonded to the company after completing their studies for a few years. This guarantees them a job right after university. A sponsorship is also generally applicable to both overseas and local universities.

Here is a link with some examples of scholarships that you can apply for after SPM:
https://afterschool.my/find-university-in-malaysia/-scholarships-you-can-apply-for-with-your-spm-results
And here is a more general link of external scholarships you can apply for too:

Hope this clarifies your question. Feel free to browse through the links and ask us more questions :)

Hi Thiviya,

Unfortunately, all universities in Malaysia require you to have at least a pass in your SPM to be able to enroll you in their courses. One of the only ways you can do to be able to do a certificate or diploma in a university is to retake your History paper in July next year.

However, if you do not plan to retake your SPM, you can try to apply for the "sijil persediaan" in a community college by the government. After getting this preparation cert, you will then be able to go for the full cert, and then diploma and degree if you choose to do so. You can check out the courses available and apply for these colleges here:

Hope this helps. We wish you all the best :)

Hello Nisa,

Application for scholarships with SPM trial results depend on the university or organisation themselves, as some of them do accept trial results but some of them don't. Therefore, We suggest that you contact the university or organisation directly to find out more about the application process and what you can do to obtain your scholarship.

Hope this helps. We wish you all the best!

Hello Wani,

No, this should not happen with UPU, as the system only takes the courses that the applicant has applied for into account in addition to them having to be eligible for it. Furthermore, as you have stated that the person has SPM, it is also impossible for an SPM-leaver to apply for a degree through UPU.

May we enquire if this happened to you or if you are just wondering if this is possible?

Hope to hear from you soon :)

Hello Sarumathy,

Crime Scene Investigation encompasses a large team of people with different responsibilities. There are the police officers, CSI (Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah) team, medical examiner, detectives, and many others. If you are interested in being part of the CSI team, your study path would be through Forensic Science.

As for colleges and universities that offer this course, MSU (Management and Science University) is one of the universities that are popular with these courses. They offer various courses related to crime scene investigation such as forensic science, computer forensics, and criminology.

Hope this helps. We wish you all the best! :)
