Marine Science is the study of the ocean in Malaysia, everything that lives within it, seabed, currents and the environment around it.
Ever wondered how does the climate affect the ocean and vice versa? Why and how do species get extinct? Why do albatross feed plastic to their young? And how does the ocean turn acidic? As a student of Marine Sciences in Malaysia, you'll examine questions like these. Although your focus will be the ocean, you'll also be studying its’ relationship with dry land.
Marine Science is an interdisciplinary field of study that involves research on ocean life. A course in Marine Sc

Advanced Methods in Marine Science
Imagine yourself living under the sea. You see the fish swim in a breathtaking pattern. You see the particles as the sunlight shoots into the sea. Your brain begins to think, and your hands begin to create a way to preserve such beauty.
With so many degree options out there, here are some top reasons why you should study Marine Science:
You should be prepared to go to numerous nations, some outstanding, others incredible, whatever your future plans for you. You should have the capacity to not just deal with the consistent change but to hold onto it too. You have chance to conquer different oceans.
Sea life science is tied in with figuring out how the stunning creatures and biological systems of the sea work and how you can improve it with your expertise.
Because this course requires you to work out of your comfort zone and unfamiliar situations, you will tend to discover new things and learn that you are capable of doing much more, hence, building your level of confidence.
“We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch - we are going back from whence we came.”
- John F. Kennedy

Matriculation :
Pass Sijil Matrikulasi KPM/Asasi Sains with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and receive at least Band 1 in MUET
Important Note: Diploma is not offered for this course. Students can enrol for a pre-university programme in science stream before applying for a degree in Marine Biology..
It is not necessary for you to do your postgraduate but doing so would help you advance in your career and open up more job opportunities. You can opt to work straight after degree as well.
You will be dealing with large ecosystem, all interconnected and dependant in one way or another. Ever the smallest of changes in it could have drastic consequences, and as such, you will need a keen eye to detect any such change and its eventual fix.
Not only will you need to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in marine biology, you will need to also keep track of current weather trends and changes. Suffice to say, you will need to be extremely well informed by consistently reading and learning.
You need to be equally adept at your theoretical knowledge as you are with your abilities hands-on. You will spend equal time in the field collecting your samples and observing aquatic life as you will in the laboratory analysing it.
