The creative arts and hospitality programmes at Management and Science University (MSU) are built on the belief that anyone can be a great designer who offers exceptional hospitality even without prior experience. At MSU, it starts with the right foundation.

Whether you dream of crafting bold, eye-catching designs with the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE) or creating unforgettable guest experiences with the School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA), MSU provides the right tools and opportunities for its students to shine.

From the faculty’s cutting-edge facilities like a professional on-campus kitchen, fashion hallway, travel agency, spa and beauty outlet, to a curriculum designed to meet the latest industry trends, MSU ensures that its students are ready to excel in the industry.

Inspiring Creativity and Expanding Horizons

The MSU Graphic Design programmes are tailored to inspire, educate, and cultivate the next generation of creative designers. Their curriculum aligns with the creative industry’s latest technological advancements, challenging students to think critically and innovate through engaging projects and assessments. Additionally, these programmes prioritise hands-on and real-world experience. Students can dive into exciting challenges like the MyTIGER Values Art Competition & Exhibition at Balai Seni Maybank, where they can showcase their talent while sharpening their skills.

MSU also believes in expanding its students’ horizons through interdisciplinary collaboration, giving students the chance to work with other professionals in areas like multimedia, game design, and marketing. In addition, MSU provides its students with its Global Mobility Programme, which allows them to spend a semester abroad at one of its partner universities in Japan, Turkey, China, Europe, Australia and many more. These programmes expose students to diverse cultures and creative perspectives. Additionally, students gain access to a network of seasoned academics and industry leaders in the creative fields.

Turning Creativity into Achievements

At MSU FISE, every project tells a story—one of growth, creativity, and the courage to explore new possibilities. Take, for instance, Putri Sarah Irdina, a talented student whose journey in the graphic design programme is nothing short of inspiring. Sarah’s love for design began as a hobby when she was just 13, and it has since blossomed into a passion that shines through her work today. From crafting a guidebook that captures the raw charm of Kuala Lumpur’s Pudu district to designing stunning logos for clients, Sarah has turned her dreams into reality with the support and guidance of MSU.

What makes MSU unique is how it nurtures individuality while fostering a sense of community. Sarah’s editorial designs, such as her internship project for Idaris Homes and her personal creations, aren’t just assignments; they reflect her identity and growth. MSU provides the perfect platform to turn personal inspirations into professional achievements, blending hand-drawn artistry with cutting-edge tools such as Adobe Illustrator.

Other than Sarah, MSU’s Graphic Design students have consistently proven their talent and creativity on prestigious platforms. From securing a spot in the Top 50 of the MyTiger Maybank competition, with artwork even sold to Maybank, to winning Silver and Bronze awards at MITEX and ITEX, their accomplishments are proof of their exceptional skills. Additionally, they clinched 3rd place in the MBSA Selangor competition, showcasing their ability to stand out in the competitive design industry.

The university’s supportive environment and expert faculty encourage students to take risks, explore their potential, and create work that stands out. With projects like these, MSU students don’t just graduate with portfolios—they graduate with inspiring stories and empowering skills.

Hospitality Internships: Students Gateway to Opportunity

MSU SHCA prepares its students to become professionals in the hospitality industry. One of the highlights of the Hospitality Programmes is their extensive internship opportunities. These internships, which range from local placements with top hospitality brands to international experiences through the Global Internship Programme, connect students with industry leaders such as Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Jumeirah Hotels, and Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur. Students gain hands-on experience in roles such as front office operations, food and beverage management, and event coordination, giving them a competitive edge in the job market.

Additionally, the hospitality industry is built on human connection, and MSU ensures its students develop the soft skills needed to thrive. Through group projects, live role-playing sessions, and mentorship opportunities with accomplished professionals, students learn how to communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and lead teams under pressure. The university’s ‘2E Culture’—a focus on employability and entrepreneurial skills—empowers graduates to think critically, adapt to challenges, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

The success stories of graduates like Aqidah Dayana, who began as an intern and now manages guest services at a luxury property under Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, highlight how the programme helps transform potential into achievement. Others, like Nur Adlin Nadiah, have found their passion in event management, showcasing how MSU’s practical and personalised approach allows students to thrive in diverse sectors of the industry.

Simultaneously, they will be able to build a solid foundation in the essential principles that every industry demands. Furthermore, MSU aims to ensure that its curriculum connects theory with practice, enabling students to gain hands-on experience as they learn.

From hands-on activities in food and beverage management to executing event operations with precision, every course is designed to make sure you’re ready to step into the professional world with confidence. And when you graduate, you won’t just have a degree—you’ll have a portfolio, a wealth of practical experience, and the skills to make an impact in your industry.
