Hi Nurul Amirah,
Yes, A-Levels are widely accepted by Australian and New Zealand universities.
Degree
Hi Thilaanraj,
If you don't take A-Levels, you will have to choose a different option of pre-u programme before enrolling in a bachelor's degree. For example, you may choose to take a Foundation programme or an Australian Matriculation programme.
For more info about pre-u programmes, you can download or e-book by clicking here, or read our articles below:
Hope this helps, and good luck!

Hi Donovann,
According to the GMI website as you can view here, upon completing A-Levels there is a placement for students to apply to the University of Applied Sciences (UAS) in Germany. This university does indeed offer chemical engineering as a degree course.

Hi Diviya,
The education Ministry no longer allows for students to enter private universities using their forecast results. But as long as your actual SPM results meet the institution's entry requirements, then you should be able to join the course.
If you're interested, INTEC offers A levels! If you wish to apply, you may fill up the bar on the right and one of our counselors will get in touch with you.
Hope this helps!

Choosing a Course

Hi Toh Kar Ming.
Foundation programmes are specific to the course you want to pursue at degree level, and is also usually tied to the institution you choose. It's also considered a 'fast track' option as you complete it within a year.
A-Levels are more competitive, and takes about 18 months to finish. It's very academically-inclined and if you prefer exam-oriented assessment rather than coursework or assignments, then A-Levels is a good choice.
AUSMAT on the other hand is a year-long programme and has a range of continuous assessment such as in-class tests, research papers, assignments, and exams.
If you want more specific details about each of the programmes, you can read here: https://afterschool.my/find-course/which-pre-u-course-should-you-choose
You can also compare the types of pre-U programmes here and also here.
We hope this helps! Don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have more questions.

Hi Syahidah,
Unfortunately, it is impossible for you to take both courses at the same time as both are full-time programmes, and are already heavy on their own. You will not be able to cope with the workload and maintain your grades.
Right now, you have the choices of dropping out of your foundation in Science and proceed to continue your studies in A-levels, or finish your foundation and then enroll in A-levels. We would advice you to choose the former. The latter option will not be the best choice. Both will cost you time and money as you have already enrolled in the foundation course. But, if you are really invested in studying abroad and are just in your first semester of Foundation, we suggest that you drop out of your foundation course and proceed with A-levels so that you do not waste more time.
Technically, Foundation is mostly accepted only at the university that offers this qualification. But some other universities will also consider this. So if you're already half way through your Foundation, we suggest you complete it then apply to an overseas institution. Of course, A-levels is the safest option. Perhaps you could check with the university first if they require A-levels or if Foundation is acceptable too before you proceed with this decision.
Hope this clarifies your doubt. We wish you the best of luck!
Diploma
Hi Wani,
Using your diploma to apply for universities abroad is highly dependent on the university's approval. They will review your results and syllabus completed in your diploma to fit the degree programs offered by the university. If your diploma is from a university that has partner universities abroad then there are higher chances to get enrolled in those universities. However, we will recommend using A-Levels as this qualification is under Cambridge and it is an internationally recognised pre university course. You will not need to worry whether a university will accept A-Levels.Hope this clarifies your query. :)
Scholarship/Loans
Hello Crystal,
Can you please give us more details on which institution you are referring to for the scholarship? Different institutions utilise different methods for their applications, so it is best to check directly on the particular university’s website or staff to confirm the methods that they are using for their scholarship applications.
Hope this helps. We hope to hear from you soon :)
Hello Zarifah,
Can you please specify your SPM results so that we can determine if you are eligible to apply for the course in your A-levels? Thank you :)
Pre-University
Hi Fatin,
Pre-University is a study level that consists of STPM, Asasi, Matrikulasi, A-Levels, Foundation, IB, ADTP, CPU, AUSMAT, etc. They are all categorised under 'pre-university' level. Each of them have their own pros and cons, some being more affordable, some leading you to study at overseas institutions, some have a shorter duration, etc. Diploma is also the same level but people generally call diploma just as it is. A diploma is more specific than other pre-u programmes. For example, there are only a few streams in Foundation such as science, arts, engineering, business, etc. But for diploma, you have Diploma in Information Technology or Business and Accounting, etc. This article explains in detail what all these courses entail: https://afterschool.my/find-course/which-pre-u-course-should-you-choose
Hope this helps.
