Hi Nurul Nabilah,

There are many universities that offer Pharmacy courses that you can take for your degree. To read more about a Pharmacy course and what entails it, you can read a bit about it here. Here is also a list of universities that offer a Pharmacy course in Malaysia.

However, you must note that before you can pursue your degree, you must go through a pre-u programme. You can read about the different pre-u programmes at this link to help you choose.

If you are certain about the university you want to study in, you can take a Foundation in Science and continue into the Pharmacy field.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Hello Warnakulasuriya!

To become a registered pharmacist in Malaysia, your degree must be on the list of recognised pharmacy degrees in Malaysia. You can find the link here:

https://www.pharmacy.gov.my/v2/en/content/list-recognized-pharmacy-degree-pharmacy-board-malaysia.html

There is no university in Sri Lanka that is on the list, so the answer to your question would be - you cannot become a licensed pharmacist in Malaysia. Sorry, and all the best!

Hello Zulfa,

Yes, you can still apply with your SPM 2013 results for the Foundation in Science programme before furthering your studies for a degree in Pharmacy. However, as this is a medical degree, you have to take note that the entry requirements for this course is higher than the average Foundation in Science programme for other degree courses.

According to the MQA requirements for medical courses, you will need 5Bs each in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (or Additional Mathematics) and another subject in SPM.

Here are two universities that offer the Foundation in Science course that leads to the Bachelor of Pharmacy degree:
MAHSA University
AIMST University

If you are interested in enrolling in these universities, simply fill up the application form on the right hand column of the page and our counsellors will contact you soon about it.

Hope this helps. We wish you all the best! :)

Hello Danusha,

Unfortunately, UNISEL does not offer dentistry or pharmaceutical courses. The closest courses offered that relate to the medical line is medical imaging, medical laboratory technology, and nursing.

However, if your daughter is really interested in either the dentistry or pharmaceutical line, there are universities that offer both these courses and grant 100% scholarship automatically to students that have straight As. One example of this is SEGi University Kota Damansara. They offer a 100% scholarship for students who have achieved 10As for their SPM, but they will also consider straight A students who have fewer than 10As on a case-by-case basis. If your daughter chooses to enroll in SEGi University, she will need to complete her foundation in science first before heading on to complete her degree in either pharmacy or dental surgery.

You can fill in your daughter's details on the top right column here: https://afterschool.my/segi-university-and-colleges-kota-damansara and we will contact her shortly to help with her admission to SEGi and guide her towards a pathway in the medical field.

Looking forward to contacting her soon :)
