Asasi in IPTA or foundations is a pre-university course offered by Malaysian public universities.
Unlike Form 6 (STPM) and matriculation, Asasi is designed to fit the curriculum for a university’s degree course. Besides having to pay such a minimum fee, you get allowance of RM 1,250 per semester. If you do the math, you actually receive more money than paying for your education! Asasi programmes are generally designed for Bumiputra students but there are six courses offered to non-Bumiputra students.
