Traditional Medicine is the study and practice of treatment methods which has a strong cultural and religious influence.
The skills and practices are usually based on the the theories, beliefs and experiences that are deemed as sacred and are usually indigenous related.

A-Level/STPM :
Full Passes in 2 relevant subjects science subjects with CGPA of 2.5
SAM :
ATAR 70 and minimum Grade B in twos science subjects
CPU :
70% average in 6 relevant subjects which must include two science subjects
UEC :
Grade B in 5 relevant subjects which must include two science subjects
Foundation in Science :
Minimum CGPA of 2.2.50
Degree :
A relevant first or second class Honours degree, or a degree qualification, or equivalent qualification recognised by the Malaysian Government, acceptable to the University
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study with a first class honours
Master’s :
Master’s degree in a relevant field of study
Important Note: Diploma is not offered for this course. Students can enrol for a pre-university programme in science stream before applying for a degree in Traditional Medicine.
It is not necessary for you to do your postgraduate but doing so would help you advance in your career and open up more job opportunities. You can opt to work straight after degree as well.
The field of traditional medicine, although relying on older ways to treay illnesses and diseases, is constantly finding new ways to utilise herbs and fruits and berries in it’s medicinal march. You’ll need to have a creative mind to master the uses of old ones and to conjure up new ones as well, like a spell !
It takes 5 years to graduate with a Bachelor’s degee, which isn’t a short time by any span of the imagination. People who aren’t ready to work may become disillusioned and lose interest, eventually dropping out. You need to make sure you’re ready to put in the time.
The methods and ways of traditional medicine are different. You’ll need to be able to convey complicated information as what the uses of certain remedies, and the importance of using it on a regular basis to normal people who may not be familiar with certain terminologies.
