Hi Carine,

In simplest terms, pharmacy is a field in which you would be studying to become a pharmacist, and thus will deal more with preparing the medicine for patients as opposed to becoming a doctor.

If you choose to study medicine, however, you will be undergoing the proper study and training to become a doctor. Medical study is typically longer than if you choose to study pharmacy, but you cannot become a doctor by studying pharmacy alone; you will still have to go through medical study.

For more information, you can read more about Pharmacy via this link or read more about Medicine via this link.

Hope this helps!

Hi Nurul Afifah,

If you did not take a Physics subject in SPM, you will have to retake your SPM with the required subjects. Medicine, Pharmacy and Pediatrics (which is a branch of medicine) requires you to have achieved at least 5Bs in SPM in the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Additional Mathematics, and another subject.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Hi Nurul Nabilah,

There are many universities that offer Pharmacy courses that you can take for your degree. To read more about a Pharmacy course and what entails it, you can read a bit about it here. Here is also a list of universities that offer a Pharmacy course in Malaysia.

However, you must note that before you can pursue your degree, you must go through a pre-u programme. You can read about the different pre-u programmes at this link to help you choose.

If you are certain about the university you want to study in, you can take a Foundation in Science and continue into the Pharmacy field.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Hi Wani,

We've contacted the university to enquire about this but they will need to see your certificate, SPM and MUET results first to determine your eligibility. Could you please send a clear image of all those documents to our FB inbox here: https://www.facebook.com/Afterschool.my/ We will transfer your documents to the university and get back to you if they accept your application.

Looking forward to receive your documents on FB soon :)

Hi Anis,

You can apply for the Top Glove scholarship. Browse through all the scholarships here and see which ones are suitable for you: https://afterschool.my/scholarship
You can also apply for the university's internal scholarship once you've received a placement. AIMST, Monash and SEGi all have internal scholarships.

Good luck!
