Hi Nurul Athirah,

Do you mean a course in Accounting after SPM? If you are interested in pursuing Accounting, you will have to first enrol in a pre-university course. The minimum requirements for you to go into an Accounting programme are at least 3 credits in SPM, with one of the subjects being Mathematics. You will also require a pass in BM, English and Sejarah.

For more info about choosing pre-u courses, you can refer to the following links:

Hi Nur Ruqaiyah Nadhirah,

While there are many similarities between the two fields, the main difference is that those who work in Islamic finance typically focus on planning and directing the financial transactions for an organisation, while those who work in accounting focus on recording and reporting on those transactions. Islamic finance differs from traditional finance in terms of the system adopted by the banks; following Islamic laws of investment and risk-sharing.

Hi NurAdawiyah,

Did you take science subjects in school? Many students who take accounting also take science subjects. If you did, then you will have to take Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and perhaps Physics in A-Levels to proceed to a medical course after that.

Hope this helps!

Hi Muhammad,

Unfortunately most institutions require that a degree in Accounting holder achieve at least a CGPA of 3.00 to be allowed admission. In fact, even to pursue ACCA locally BAcc holders are required to at least have a CGPA of 2.50 or above, as set by the MQA.

Hope this helps!

Hi Harinee,

In order to be eligible for the Certified Accounting Technician course, you will need at least 5Cs in SPM inclusive of BM, Math and English. MCKL and INTEC are two institutions that offer CAT, and accept trial results for applications. You can apply to them by filling in the bar on the right, and one of our counselors will help you with your application :)

Hi Siti,

The 4-year accounting programme at UniKL consists of 8 semesters, each term amounting to RM6500. The entire course accumulates to RM52,000 for a local student.

If you're interested, IUMW and IUKL also offer the course with a similar fee structure. IUMW's course is a 3-year programme though, so you could pursue the degree in a shorter amount of time!

Hope this helps!
