School Overview

Nippon Designers School (NDS) has been established in 1965 and has been open since then. We have 3 sister schools that are located in Tokyo and Fukuoka, Japan and we have finally opened a new branch here in Malaysia! NDS has a history of about 60 years and has produced many creators in a variety of fields, including illustrators, manga artists, designers, and photographers. NDS is well known in Japan as an art school that teaches the latest knowledge used in the Japanese art industry, now we wanted to bring that knowledge to Malaysia. These lessons are applied to the artworks of the students.

Plenty of career opportunities in the creative field as there are available jobs in Malaysia as well as in Japan with the support of employment from partnered companies and assisting staff from the Tokyo/Kyushu school.

Artworks that are created can be exhibited not only at the Malaysian campus but also at school galleries in Japan as well as at the museum in Tokyo. There is also manga artist/ illustrator debut support where you can get advice directly from professional editors from major editorial departments.

Why Study at the College

• Nippon Designers School Malaysia College is the first Japanese college that features guidance by a mixture of Japanese and Malaysian lecturers in cooperation with our other schools in Japan. By incorporating both Malaysian and Japanese education, we aim to create synergies through the fusion of education in both countries and become a school that is truly one of its kind. This will help to create a new creative trend and to develop human resources that can play an active role not only in Malaysia but internationally. 
• We are the first accredited Japanese design college in Malaysia and the only one to offer a diploma course in “Manga”. We specialize in Manga, Illustrations, and soon Animation. We educate our students in a way that enables career paths in the art industry. Students will be able to make great artworks and designs with us as we will teach them from the beginning and we will also help the student to skill up and to help boost their drawing potential to the max.
• Students can develop their creative abilities through manga and illustration production based on the know-how of the manga department of Nippon Designers School, which has a long history in Japan. With a practice that incorporates the cultures of both Japan and Malaysia, we aim to develop creators that can work locally and internationally.

Internal Scholarships Provided by the University

• There is an internal scholarship that is provided by our college which is the “JAGAM + NDS Scholarship” where applicants can get a chance to get a full exemption or a 1st-year exemption with this scholarship.

What You Should Know About the University

Student Accommodation

• Students can easily rent a house nearby the campus as it is located in the Sunway area. We can also support them in finding housing agents in finding cheaper accommodation.

• Students can park their cars on the ground floor of the building. There is also season parking as well.

Applying to the University with SPM Trial Results

• Our school requires the applicant’s SPM results as it is the requirement. 

Affiliated Organisations & Job Opportunities

• Our school has a close partnership with a few companies so students that have graduated from our school can get a chance to work at our partnered companies. If the student wanted to work in Japan, our Japan school(Kyushu/Tokyo) can help support them. There is also a support center in Japan in assisting foreigners in job hunting as well.

Graduation Details

Graduation ceremonies are held 3 times a year.

After the students have completed their 2 months of internship, their graduation ceremony will be held following their intake.
