The deadline has now been extended to July 31, 2018.
The day many PTPTN borrowers have been waiting for has finally arrived, as PTPTN have finally confirmed that those earning less than RM4,000 can delay their repayment. PTPTN chairman Wan Saiful Wan Jan confirmed the news in a media brief earlier today, citing the Pakatan Harapan manifesto and their 100-day pledge.
While the date this deferment would be implemented has yet to be confirmed, Wan Saiful did urge those who intend to defer their repayment to update their personal information, salary, email address and phone number by July 25 this year. If a PTPTN borrower does not do so, it will be assumed they have no intention to delay their repayment when the rule comes into effect. So, make sure y'all update your information, okay?
