Students who wish to earn an overseas degree but can’t seem to be able to afford the exorbitant fees now have an alternative – twinning programmes. Steadily gained traction over the last few years, twinning programmes have rapidly expanded, and now come in various forms. There are 3+1 programmes, 1+3 programmes and even 4+0 programmes. For a detailed break-down of what these numbers mean, click here. Alas, for many the fees are still a step too far. It’s good to know then, that students in twinning programmes can apply for PTPTN. Read on as we explain to just who can apply.
Yes, a student in a twinning programme may apply for PTPTN. There is a catch however, one that must be noted prior to applying – PTPTN will only sponsor students for the duration of their studies that are taught locally. This essentially means that in a 3+1 programme, the first 3 years will be sponsored, whereas the final year abroad will not. If it’s a 1+3 programme, then only the first year will be PTPTN applicable. On the flip side, a 4+0 programme would be PTPTN applicable for all four years. Below, you'll find all the courses sponsored by PTPTN.
