A Taste of Success in Regional Culinary Competition

TAR UMT’s Hospitality Management students impressed judges at Culinaire Malaysia 2025, a prestigious culinary competition held as part of the Food & Hospitality Malaysia exhibition, where they demonstrated their expertise by winning several awards in various cooking categories.

Culinaire Malaysia 2025 had a taste of the high-quality culinary talent produced by TAR UMT after four hospitality management students stood out in the premier culinary competition held from 23 – 26 September 2025.

Hawa Ikhwanisa binti Jurrizal led the charge after her duck dish won the Bachelor of Hospitality Management (Hons) student a Silver award. Chan Ruey Nie, also from the Bachelor of Hospitality Management (Hons) programme, won a Bronze award in the salmon category.

Diploma in Hotel Management student Yip Hui Ciing also took home a Bronze award (chicken category), while Nouh Benhadria bin Habib Benhadria, also from the Diploma in Hotel Management programme, won the Certificate award (lamb category).

Organised as part of the Food & Hospitality Malaysia 2025, Malaysia’s largest food and hospitality exhibition, Culinaire Malaysia is a biennial culinary competition that gathers participants from universities, hotels, and restaurants, both local and abroad.
