1. Search Trends Analyst
Seeing as how online shopping has taken the world by storm, there is no surprise that there are people in charge of carefully analyzing how we search for the things we shop for. A search trends analyst analyzes the website’s search query logs to try and find new and interesting patterns in how people shop and create outfits. Through these analyses, the company will be able to predict any upcoming trends and create a more engaging shopping experience for the community.
2. Fashion Consultant
Almost every business needs a consultant to help inform and advise them, and this includes fashion businesses. These consultants can either be full time or freelance and their jobs is to inspire, support and guide a designer or design team for their specific collections or their overall branding. Anyone that wants to delve into this aspect of fashion should definitely have a strong understanding of fashion history, be able to conduct extensive research, and keep abreast with the latest happenings and trends.
3. Skype Stylist
Yes, this is actually a thing. Especially in today’s digital age and pandemic-ridden time, in-person styling isn’t as easily accessible. Furthermore, online styling allows stylists to consult with clients all around the world while based in one country. This job comprises of everything that normal stylists would do except that it is conducting online. Skype stylists can consult their clients when it’s convenient for them and through video calls they talk them through questionnaires and exchange wardrobes and outfit images online.
4. Fashion Programmer
Fashion programmers are definitely becoming more in demand nowadays as they help in playing a key role in making sure major fashion events happen and run smoothly. They work in association with the fashion designers and industry partners and develop everything from brand partnerships to runway shows. Fashion programmers are in charge of researching and bringing in designers, booking shows, and making sure that the lights, sounds and staging meet their client’s expectations.
5. Product Safety & Compliance Specialist
In the fashion world, these people make sure that kids clothes are safe for them and that designs don’t violate copyrights. They work closely with designers and product development to give advice on how to make the clothing safe, of good quality, and legally sound. These are key people in a fashion company as they are responsible for making sure the product is durable and doesn’t violate any existing copyrights.
6. Fashion Lawyer
Fashion lawyers work closely with talent agencies, models, manufacturers, designers, and fashion corporations. They are in charge of dealing with issues regarding contracts, trademarks, and employment, to name a few. They are also the people that work closely with talent agencies and fashion brands to help shape their design and trademarks and make themselves known worldwide.
7. Fashion Psychologist
While this is a relatively new field, it is definitely one to look out for in the near future. Fashion psychology studies the ways in which image, style, shape and color can affect human behavior while also taking into account cultural norms and sensitivities. Essentially, they work with companies to give them advice on style choices based on factors such as personal histories, goals, and individual self-esteem.
8. 3D Fashion EngineeringAs 3D printing is making a huge impact in the fashion industry, many engineers and programmers are collaborating with designers to work in that space. This career path will be something very common in fashion houses over the next few years. Their roles involve taking paper designs and translating them in a 3D CAD file, then printing those deigns on a 3D printer. These printed models are already allowing fashion designers to create works that were previously impossible to create.
