UKM is ranked in the top 1% of the QS World University Rankings.
UKM is one of the oldest public universities in Malaysia and offers degree programmes with an international touch. It partners with universities across the world to offer the Mobility Programmes.
Since its inception in 1970, UKM has grown from 3 faculties to its current 13 faculties and 12 research institutes. The programmes offered range from medicine and health science to social sciences and education.

Student Accommodation
UKM provides accommodation for all students. If students wish to stay outside of campus, UKM offers accommodation near Taman Tenaga, Kajang. The university is also surrounded by apartments and other accommodation options that students may consider.

Transportation
Free shuttle bus service is available for students to commute within the campus. The UKM KTM station is located right next to the main campus and provides easy access to Kuala Lumpur. You may reach the university by using the KTM service. UKM is located 30 minutes away from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Students may apply for the UKM vehicle stickers only in their second year. First-year students are encouraged to use public transportation provided within or near the university. UKM’s main campus is located about 30km from the centre of KL and is easily accessible via the PLUS highway. Via the highway, exit at the Bangi/UKM toll gate (Exit 212). At the first roundabout, go straight. Turn right at the second roundabout and look out for signs to UKM.

Parking spaces are available for university staff as well as students.
Things to Do Around the Campus
There are a few malls located near UKM, such as Bangi Gateway, IOI City Mall, Bangi Sentral and Alamanda Putrajaya. They are all located within 30 minutes drive from campus. Student discounts are also available for food purchase at Pusanika UKM, a one-stop student centre located within the campus.
Security
There is 24/7 security throughout the campus. Security officers are on duty day and night.

Affiliated Organisations & Job Opportunities
UKM has collaborated with many governmental and non-governmental organisations over the years. UKM’s bachelor’s degree programmes are also globally recognised. Although UKM does not guarantee job placement upon graduation, students can apply to organisations recognised and certified by the Malaysian government that focus on or are related to their area of study.
Graduation Details
Graduation ceremonies are held once a year, typically in October or November. Graduates must ensure that there are no pending fees before the graduation ceremony.
