Major scholarship providers want to know your worth as a future investment; one way they determine that is by looking at your accomplishments throughout your school years.
When writing a resume or upload copies of your certificates, make sure they are relevant and can be helpful towards securing you the scholarship that you need.
Key points to research and remember:
If they are an arts organisation, then telling them that you are a world-class ballerina, spoken-word poet or Banksy would be a golden ticket to a scholarship.
Most providers are looking for team players and applicants with exceptional leadership skills. Were you a school prefect or the president of your school’s chess club and have lead your team to victory many times? Provide information and certificates for those!
Medical student hopefuls may find that owning certificates related to having been an active member in St. John’s or the Red Crescent Society helpful. An experience in attending a Young Entrepreneurs Workshop would definitely benefit an applicant for a business studies scholarship.
This is the most important. If they already specify they require your school leavers certificate, make sure to include that. If they want your birth certificate, then don't sacrifice it for your gold medal in ice-skating!
