The recent 2016 Budget mentioned an allocation amounting to RM3.7b for MARA education which will probably take some time to process.
However, students beginning university this year have yet to receive confirmation on their applied MARA loans, according to our sources.
The recent budget also announced a marked decrease in funding for public universities and a cut of 15 to 25% for PTPTN loans.
In the meantime, students who have been promised MARA loans from some institutions have been told to seek out PTPTN instead.
