Scholarships for singers and artists to pursue degree

A total of 47 artists, including actors and singers, were recently offered scholarships for degrees at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).

The degree programmes, which would last five years, included Pengurusan Kreatif (Creative Management) and Sains Pengurusan (Science Management).

Director of UUM Tan Sri Samsudin Osman said that the programme aims to give opportunities to artists to seek knowledge and career development. In the scholarship-giving ceremony on Wednesday, he said that local artists would have the potential to improve and move further if equipped with knowledge and skills.

The artists include Hazama, Tomok, Aril AF7, Taja from the group Meet Uncle Hussain, Fiza Elite, Pekin Ibrahim, Fattah Amin, Fiffy Natasya and Adibah Yunus.
