Sarawak refuses scholarship to 43 students

Sarawak Foundation cannot overrule JPA's decision to suspend its overseas scholarship programme to 43 Sarawakian students who were promised the scholarship.

JPA suspended its overseas scholarship programme on January 20 due to lack of budget.

However, Minister of Welfare, Women and Community Development Fatimah Abdullah said that Sarawak Foundation, a state statutory body, will fund living costs of students at local universities instead.
