Petronas Scholarship 2018 to Open on March 15, 2018 at 9am

With just ONE day remaining before SPM 2017 results are finally released, Petronas have discreetly released their post for the 2018 iteration of their famed Petronas Education Sponsorship Programme, or PESP in short, and with that, the opening date of said scholarship is on March 15, 2018 at 9.00am. 

While details were scarce, the sponsored programmes for this year are as follows: 

• Accounting
• Actuarial Science 
• Applied Chemistry 
• Chemical Engineering 
• Computer Science 
• Economics 
• Electrical & Electronic Engineering 
• Electrical & Electronic Engineering (Instrumental)
• Geology/Geophysics
•  Law
• Material Engineering /Material Science 
• Mathematics 
• Mechanical Engineering 
• Psychology 
• Sociology

Specific requirements for each course will only be revealed once the scholarship has officially opened, however, general requirements from the Petronas 2017 scholarship were as follows: 

• Malaysian citizens aged between 17 - 19 years old in 2017
• Possess strong leadership skills and active participation (demonstrable) in extracurricular activities

The Petronas Scholarship in past years has seen students undergo a foundation or pre-university course, for 1 and 2 years respectively, before going on to pursue their Bachelor's Degree at either Universiti Teknologi Petronas itself, or external universities. There has been no confirmation as to whether this would include overseas universities so far. What we DO know is that the Petronas Scholarship 2018 represents a huge opportunity for SPM students, one that many have been eagerly anticipating. Good luck to all candidates!
