British High Commissioner to Malaysia, Vicki Treadell said that 51 Malaysians have been selected to receive a scholarship for the next academic session.

The recipients were selected from over 600 applicants who underwent a highly competitive selection process.

"All students will participate in a variety of degree programs in UK universities, and when they return to Malaysia, they can make important contributions in priority areas such as foreign policy and security, economics and finance, and science," she said.

Meanwhile, one of the scholars, Nabilah Mohamad, 25, from Pahang who will be studying Islamic finance at Durham University, said she would like to learn about the different cultures and perspectives in the UK which will affect views on Islamic finance courses.
