MARA to be more strict on medical scholarships

Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), well-known for it's genereous scholarships and loans have decided to reduce the number of scholarships for overseas medical programmes beginning next year.

MARA Chairperson Tan Sri Annuar Musa said that they have chosen to be more selective to control and prevent the overflow of medical graduates in Malaysia.

"We will only provide medical scholarship for certain countries due to reasons of security, programme quality and many others."

Until now, MARA has been a proud sponsor of almost 2,000 medical students including in Indonesian tertiary institutions.
