Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Najib Razak announced Public Service Department (PSD/JPA) bursaries will continue to be disbursed among excellent students at the 2016 Budget revision in Putrajaya today.
Dato' Sri Najib announced that Malaysia's top 20 SPM 2015 scorers will receive scholarships to study anywhere in the world.
In terms of overseas studies, only 200 students will receive scholarships to study engineeringdegrees in Japan, South Korea, Germany and France.
On the other hand, a total of 744 bursaries will be given out for those wanting to pursue their studies locally, he said.
The PSD Bursary Programme is open to students who have completed their pre-university examinations (STPMorA-Levels) while the PSD Scholarship Programme is for SPM leavers
Najib also highlighted that scholarshipswill be given to 8,000 students pursuing their undergraduate degrees locally.
According to him, other programmes including the MyBrain15 programme for postgraduate studies at local universities, the Skim Latihan Akademik Bumiputera and Skim Latihan Akademik IPTA, would continue.
Najib also announced that a total of RM5 billion allocated for National Higher Edudcation Fund (PTPTN) will also continue to be disbursed.
