90% of Hong Leong scholars use afterschool.my as their source of info, says survey

Survey reveals that 90% of Hong Leong scholars found about the scholarship from afterschool.my, a website for SPM leavers. The research was conducted by a non-government organisation that helps manage scholarships and other social enterprise initiatives in Malaysia.

The survey asked Hong Leong ROAR scholars how they found out about the programme. Majority of respondents identified afterschool.my as their source of scholarship information.

"Many of the students suggested that their friends also used afterschool.my to search for scholarships to assist with university applications. Students suggested that they actively use Afterschool.my to search for scholarships and it is not promoted within schools. A lot of their friends also want to go to university but require scholarships like this one," said the official who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Afterschool.my provides information through a comprehensive range of online and print solutions. Managed by Times Online Media Sdn Bhd, Afterschool.my helps Malaysian school leavers in deciding their options for higher education. Apart from its website, Afterschool.my annually distributes its Soalan Ulangkaji SPM 2014 to different schools. It also hosts seminar workshops for students and counselors. To address the growing number of mobile app users, Afterschool.my is launching its mobile site soon.
