The Ministry of Higher Education announced that a total of 20,000 scholarships will be offered this year under the MyBrain15 program.
Ministry of Higher Education is targeting 15,000 scholarships for MyMaster program and 5,000 scholarships for MyPhD program – the biggest allocation from the ministry thusfar.
The minister also announced that students who submitted their applications between August and November last year were awarded 9,010 scholarships yesterday (7,410 under the MyMasters program and 1,600 under the MyPhD program).
The minister highlighted that the increased offer was due to the revised budget that allocated RM300 million to MyBrain15 scholars.
All applications sent in December 2015 and January 2016 are not considered due to closure of applications at an earlier date.
The MyBrain15 program was introduced in 2008 in the hope of producing 60,000 PhD holders by 2023. Applicants who have yet to receive a response are advised to contact the ministry's official hotline (03 8888 1616) or send an email to ([email protected]).
