One source claimed that the students who mostly come from poor families are stuck in a tight place due to the cost of boarding fees and daily expenses.

According to one student, about 500 first-year students, comprising of 200 men and 300 women were placed in a dormitory block which they deem not conducive especially when compared to the IPB dormitories in Seri Kembangan: water rationing, lack of security, and no Wi-Fi for studying purposes.

The management of IPB has denied allegations that students have not receive scholarships and are placed in an apartment block that does not have a certificate of fitness (CF).

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the institution, Datuk Dr. Ismail Ibrahim said he regretted the attitude of students for acting rashly by filing a police report.

"It is common for scholarships to see a delay between seven to 10 days after Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (MAIWP) has channeled in the money, because we have to handle the financial management of about 700 students," he said.
