It is not difficult for beneficiaries to pay back their PTPTN loans. In addition to easing the reimbursement process, PTPTN has also taken proactive steps to help borrowers by identifying and implementing various initiatives.
PTPTN's chairman, Datuk Shamsul Anuar Isarah said, until 30 April 2015, PTPTN has approved funding for education to a total 29.2 million borrowers with a total of RM52 billion.
However, the total repayment received only reached RM6.31 billion (46.79 percent) involving a total of over 1.1 million borrowers only.
Other than waivers for high scoring graduates, ujrah discounts and the availability of 58 PTPTN branches in strategic locations around the country, PTPTN also hired Executive Marketing Services who are available free of charge to help borrowers. To date, there are over 500 marketing executives who can be contacted at any time and anywhere for appropriate advice and consultation.
This effort will make it easier for borrowers to negotiate a settlement of loans, restructuring/rescheduling or postponement of repayment of the loan.
