Official News : No Allowance For New PISMP Students & IPGM to Receive PTPTN

The Ministry of Education (MOE) has released an official statement today regarding the student living allowance for students at Institut Pendidikan Guru, which is as follows :

For IPG students Program Persediaan Ijazah Sarjana Muda Perguruan (PPISMP) in the new June 2017 intake

• Living Allowance of RM430.00 monthly, and travel coverage at a maximum of RM500.00 once a year and will be paid throughout the programme duration of PPISMP (1 year) 

For existing IPG students (intake BEFORE June 2017)

• They will STILL receive their allowance as agreed upon on January 2017, that is,  RM430.00 monthly and travel allowance of RM500.00 once a year until he end of the course

For NEW students in the June 2-17 intake that will continue their studies to the level of Program Ijazah Sarjana Muda (PISMP)

• There will be NO ALLOWANCE given. However, the fees of RM27,841.00 is fully sponsored by the government for all four years.

The IPGM has held discussions with PTPTN to list down IPGM as one of the agencies that will receive PTPTN, which will allow IPG students to continue their studies at the PISMP level from June 2018 onwards WHILE receiving the the convenience  of loans for living costs.
