Minister assures PTPTN debtors are protected

The government will protect and be more open and transparent to debtors who failed to pay the PTPTN loan.

Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh assured the government would not cause more burden to the PTPTN debtors who failed to make the payments.

According to him, the debtors are urged to meet the PTPTN officers to reschedule their payments. He also added that the debtors who have been penalized are those who did not meet the PTPTN officers at all to discuss the problems they faced.

Asked about the progress of the collection of repayments, he said that the collection is on the rise.

He also stressed PTPTN will always provide assistance to students in need to ensure that no students drop out of higher education.
