Mandatory salary deductions starting Sept for civil servants who have PTPTN loans

Starting September, civil servants will be subjected to a mandatory deduction from their salary to settle their National Higher Education Fund (PTPTN) loans.

Nearly 500 Public Service Department (PSD) officers and staffs, who have already been notified through official letter from the department, will be affected of this initiative.

"We have identified 480 borrowers and have arranged PTPTN officers to sort out their payment according to their affordability, said director-general Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal.

A counselling session will be conducted by each respective ministry explaining the mandatory salary deduction.
