Government of the United Kingdom provided RM1 million to help Malaysian students as a joint venture to help Malaysia develop its human capital development.
According to the British High Commissioner Vicki Treadell, this was done to help Malaysia in order to become an education hub in this region.
"Our goal is to promote English - which is being run by the British Council as well as to assist teachers in teaching English," she said in conjunction with the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II.
According to her, there are 17,000 Malaysian students pursuing studies in the United Kingdom.
