VMIUC - A New University College in Malaysia
- Another new University College is going to be setup in Malaysia
- Vinayaka Missions University College (VMIUC), an Indian based institution will invest RM530 million over 8 years to establish a multi-disiplinary university college in Malaysia
- VMIUC will have 3 faculties/campus- A dental collge in Pasir Gudang Johor,- A post-graduate medical faculty and a distance learning faculty in the Klang Valley,- A pre-university, arts and science, business and management, engineering, hospitality and tourism, traditional and complimentary medicine, and health sciences faculty in Penang
- VMIUC is not new to Malaysia, the owners have been operating Penang International Dental College and Surya College for the last 10 years
- The dental faculty is expected to start operation next year in Pasir Gudang
- VMIUC is planning to launch open distance learning (ODL) mode to compete with Open University Malaysia and Wawasan Open University.
- It plans to offer up to 500 programs through distance learning mode and target 50,000 students from South East Asia by 2017
- We also heard they are hiring an experienced Professor from Open University Malaysia to run their ODL faculty
