In just a few more weeks, The University College of Technology Sarawak will welcome its first batch of students. Last year, it was revealed by the Higher Education Ministry that UCTS will provide a sustainable pool of skilled workers for Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE). SCORE is set to create 600,000 jobs by 2030.
The UCTS building, sitting on a 90-acre plot next to Laila Taib College, is the first university in the country to be awarded with the Green Building Index platinum award based on green innovation.
Like other universities, UCTS offers degree programmes including master and PhD programmes. It will also enable staff and students to do high-value research.
