Universiti Utara Malaysia and Universitas Kanjuruhan Malang (Unikama) of Indonesia are looking to sign a transnational academic partnership that will enable student exchange between the two universities.
Unikama hopes that this partnership will enable its students to visit UUM in September. Furthermore, it plans to send lecturers to UUM to pursue their postgraduate studies.
Unikama was formed from a merger between the Teacher's Training College PGRI Malang and the High School Foreign Language (STIBA) Kanjuruhan Malang. Presently, Unikama has six faculties (teacher training, language, IT, economics, law, animal husbandry).
Assistant Vice-Chancellor, College of Business (UUM COB), Prof Dr Rushami Zien Yusoff, represented the University and also the Vice-Chancellor and the Dean of Student Development and Alumni (UUM COB), Assoc Prof Dr Sany Sanuri Mohd Mokhtar.
Also present at the event were the representatives from Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB), Ghazali Shafie Graduate School of Government (GSGSG), Centre for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC), School of Business Management (SBM) and School of Economic, Finance and Banking (SEFB), the Rector of Universitas Kanjuruhan, Dr Pieter Sahertian; the Vice-Chairman of the Foundation, Dr H Christea Frisdiantara; the Vice-Rector I, Dr H Sudi Dul Aji; and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Koenta Adji Koerniawan.
