Universiti Teknologi Petronas first in Malaysia to have 4 QS star rating

Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) has emerged as the first private university in Malaysia to receive four Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) stars rating. QS stars is a rating system which enables students to get a wider picture of an institution's qualities from employability of graduates, to sports facilities, and community engagement.

Last year, UTP earned three stars, and this year, the institution gained four starts which stands for "highly international" and demonstrating excellence in both research and teaching.

"The QS stars rating system is widely recognised across the world and this award will help further develop the university's growing international reputation," said UTP Vice-Chancellor Datuk Dr Abdul Rahim Hashim.
